The road safety research clearly shows that in the first year of driving 'P' Platers are especially crash prone. They have three times the risk of having a single vehicle crash, like running off the road and three times the risk of being involved in a crash in which at least one person is injured or killed.

Murcotts are keen to educate young drivers. We regularly visit secondary schools and deliver practical training and conduct focus group discussion sessions for both students and parents.

A highlight of our schools program is a visit to one of our training complexes where students are introduced to our defensive driving programs and take part in some of the practical activities. If a school bus can be supplied we also undertake some on road commentary driving where the students work together in small teams identifying hazards and observing driving behaviours of other road users.
