EcoDrive - Low Emission Vehicle Drive Day

Concerns about how vehicles may be damaging the environment and affecting climate are finally gaining traction with fleet owners and society generally.

Initiatives such as the Low Emission Vehicle Automotive Partnership Forum and Drive Day will provide impetus to changing attitudes and vehicle purchasing decisions.

This special event sponsored by Future Climate Australia in partnership with the RACV and EPA Victoria was first held in 2008. Attended by industry and government fleet specialists and supported by vehicle manufacturers, participants had an opportunity to test drive more than 30 alternative low emission vehicles including hybrids and diesels offering global friendly emission standards while delivering exciting performance.

The event was staged by Murcotts and was so successful that it will be held again on 20 April 2009 at Sandown Park.

Murcotts trainers who have been accredited by the EPA to conduct EcoDrive programs will again conduct a drive experience component allowing guests to experience the safety, economic and environmental benefits of EcoDriving and Ecofriendly vehicles. See Greenwheels.com.au.

Samantha Reid competes at the Victorian State Motor Racing Championships

Murcotts trainer Sam Reid swaped her defensive driving hat for a racing helmet to compete in the Sandown
Victorian State Motor Racing Championships at Sandown Raceway over the weekend.

Sam competed in the Formula Ford Duratec category in a field of 35 other cars.

Murcotts proudly sponsored Sam and congratualte her on achieving consistant top 1/3 placings across all three events while avoiding any incidents or accidents on such a tight, greasy and bumpy Sandown track where many others came to grief.
